Baseball, as well as many other common activities, involves statistics
and where there are statistics there is probability. In this talk, we look
at how probability can be used to predict which team will win and which
players will get the most number of hits. For those not interested in the
national pastime, we shall show how to judge a beauty contest; fool a jury;
and prove that we earthlings are the only living things in the universe.
As a service to the faculty we shall introduce the politically correct
classroom in which probability is used to avoid politically incorrect situations.
