Adaptive, and Time Dependent, Viscoelastic Fluid Flow Approximation
Abstract
In this presentation we describe the modeling equations for
viscoelastic fluid flow and contrast them to that for Newtonian fluid
flow -- the Navier-Stokes equations. For steady-state viscoelastic flow
we present some recent work on a posteriori error estimation and
related adaptive computations. For time dependent flows we present
recently derived error estimates, and describe some modeling work on
the mixing of two inviscid viscoelastic fluids.
