Chiba City is a 512-CPU Linux-based computing cluster located at Argonne
National Laboratory's Mathematics and Computer Science Division. The cluster
is designed to support computer science and computational science research
requiring large-scale testbeds. This talk will describe the motivation
for and design of the system, the experiences in installation and operation,
results of research performed using the cluster, and future directions
for cluster-related projects and research.
Remy Evard is one of the leaders of the Argonne Scalable Systems Software
Project, and is the principal architect of the Chiba City cluster. His
other research interests include scalable system administration, system
software, multi-user collaborative systems, and parallel computing. |
