LaTex Tutorial Session: How to make slides in LaTex
Professor Igor Cialenco will present a tutorila on how to make slides in LaTex. He will discuss the basics on how to make slides in Latex
using Beamer package. In particular we will talk how to
install Beamer, how to make a simple presentation, what are
the possibilities and what makes a presentation to be a good
one.

Latex Tutorial Series: Latex for Beginners
This event will cover the following topics:
Latex installation and related software for Windows OS
Editing and viewing TEX files
General ideas of writing a TEX file
Tips for writing a mathematical text
How to make references and create Bibliography using BibTeX
Some materials will be handed out during the session.
A follow up event: how to make slides/presentations in LaTeX using Beamer package will be held latter on during the semester.

Election result of the first Committee members
On February, 8, we held the first election of IIT SIAM Student Chapter, Ben Niu, Yizhi Zhang, Jiarui Yang, Aparna Poddar were selected as the first committee. They were selected from the current full-time PhD students, master students and MMF students.
