**Wednesday, April 18th, 2012** ~ How To Make Slides in LaTex
LaTex Tutorial
Dear All,
You are welcome to attend the tutorial organized by IIT SIAM
Chapter this week. Applied Math Ph.D. candidate Ismail Iygunler will present the tutorial.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 18th, from 12:50-1:30pm in E1-103. The following topics will be covered:
1. Beamer installation and related software for Windows OS.
2. Basics on how to make slides in LaTex using Beamer package.
3. How to make a simple presentation.
4. What are the possibilities and what makes a presentation to be a good
one.
Drink and pizza will be provided during the event. We look forward to seeing
you on Wednesday.

**Thursday, April 19th, 2012** ~ Advanced Scientific Computing Presentation
Career Talk
Dear All,
On Thursday, April 19th @ 4:30pm, Dr. Hong Zhang (Consultant at Argonne National Laboratory, Research Professor at Department of Computer Science, IIT) will give a speech on Advanced Scientific Computing. Dr. Zhang will present a brief introduction to advanced scientific computing and explain his career path. The location has yet to be determined, so check back for updates!
